Inspiration

How does one get inspired? Often in unexpected ways, as in my case experiencing AfricaBurn. Is inspiration enough? Probably not I would say. It needs to be fueled!

In this case the fuel was the kindness and caring of Greg & Nat’s. Greg in his ever mad and spontaneous way invited Antje and me to attend a 4 day “Alter Ego” painting program in “Schoenies” (a suburb in PE for the uninformed).

Road trips are for me!!

The joy of uninterrupted chats, watching our beautiful countryside pass us by, the smell of paint and turps awaiting their turn on packed canvasses and an assortment of music filling our moving space, was a dream start to a wonderful week ahead.

We were spoilt rotten by being given our own on suites! Mine was called Thelma! This allowed us the privilege of our own space to….LET IT BE! Our days and nights were filled with friendship, great red wine, bubbly, delicious food, wonderful people, inspiring chats and the time to PAINT!

The result was this painting, the first of the continuation of my series inspired by AfrikaBurn.
