Dreaming in Play
Nov 26th, 2023
This sculpture has been inspired by my deep contemplation of human emotions and our connection to the natural world. This inspiration grew stronger when my husband was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. In our fast paced society, we often suppress our emotions due to various pressures. However, unadulterated play is crucial for our emotional heath and well being, bringing us much needed serotonin and joy.
This sculpture represents the rarity of such play in today’s human experience, contrasting it with the spontaneous playfulness commonly observed in mammals.
